Lindenhurst Diner, 195 E. Montauk Highway, Lindenhurst-(631) 991-8600: This silver bullet may be just the kind of classic American diner your family loves. Reviewers mention stylish interior.

The menu is colossal with breakfast, 11 burgers, paninis, sandwiches, and savory dishes, from Greek lemon sole to stuffed shrimp.

"One of the best diners on Long Island. Great staff awesome owners. Great choices of food to chose from the excellent menu," a Yelp review said.

"Hip atmosphere," says a Yelp comment which also mentions "Great hostess. And the milkshakes are delish."

Another person on Yelp wrote that "We each had one of the daily specials. For $13.95 I had a salad, an entree, and choice of any dessert. They also give you a Greek pasta salad to start. I had three cheese lasagna and caramel cheesecake for dessert. My husband had ziti ala vodka and chocolate layer cake. The pasta servings were huge."

Tullulah's Restaurant & Bar, 12 4th Ave., Bayshore-(631)969-9800: Whether your favorite mom loves steak, burritos, burgers, and many savory options, with fresh ingredients, select wines, cocktails you may want to give this a run Sunday, May 12 for brunch or dinner.

A Yelp review says, "Can't believe I haven't reviewed Tullulah's yet! It was one of the very first restaurants I went to here on the Island, is now a favorite, and is somewhere I always recommend when out of towners are looking for somewhere to eat. I highly recommend it for brunch, dinner, and cocktails.

Everything I've ordered here has been fantastic. The menu changes seasonally, but things that seem to stick around (and are awesome) are the arancini and gouda mac n cheese. Drool. It is a tapas-style restaurant so order up a storm with your pals and try a little bit of everything."

Nocello's, 843 Fort Salonga Road, Northport- (631)262-8565:  From shrimp cocktail to steak, traditional Italian fare and seafood there are lots of reasons for a celebration at this neighborhood establishment.

A Yelp reviewer, Michele G., of Rockville Center, recounted her first visit with a party of 24, "treated like royalty. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. One in our group was celiac and received gluten-free fresh options."
